Favorite ways to spend family time in WA: A favorite way for my son and I to spend family time is with our neighbors on our block. We are lucky enough to live on a street where our neighbors are our friends, adults and kids. During the summer months, we block off the street so the kids can ride bikes, scooter around, color with chalk and the adults can enjoy good conversation.
Your most rewarding motherhood moment: My most rewarding motherhood moment was about a week ago when my son Wyatt said out of the blue, “Mom, I love you.”
Biggest challenge as a mom: Biggest challenge as a mom is getting caught up in our day-to-day life and not enjoying every little moment. I try to remind myself, my son isn’t always going to want to hang out with me when he is in middle and high school. So, I try to cherish the moments when my son tells me a knock knock joke, a silly story or wants to talk about his favorite game.
Best piece of advice for a new mom: My advice for a new mom is to connect with other new moms. Connect with other moms who are going through the same changes you are, to help you with this new chapter in your life.
Your biggest hope for your child: My hope for Wyatt is that he learns to love himself so he can love others. He is an empathetic child, and I hope he never grows out of that.
How are you celebrating Mother’s Day? A few other moms and I have made reservations at two wineries in Woodinville for just us moms. We did this last year for Mother’s Day, and we were all very excited to do it again this year. I think we might have started a tradition.
