Hometown: 206, baby!
First job: Weeding yards in the CD. First “legal job” was selling candy at Woodland Park Zoo.
Favorite ways to spend your free time in WA: At Seward Park in the forest, Discovery Park, shopping for food and treats at Pike Place (Three Girls Bakery – cheese danish! ), thrifting with BIPOC-owned thrift shops (@yourflynessthrifts, @heavydutyvintage, @bitchfitvintage and @luckylemonsseattle).
Your biggest accomplishment and why: Being authentic in a racist capitalist patriarchal world that hates women.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: My mind and my ego and alcohol.
Someone who inspires you and why: My ancestors for surviving a genocide and paving the way for me. My children, my descendants–they keep me grounded in the now, not “how it used to be.”
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Be intentional, and stay silly at all costs.
Favorite quote: “I don’t look for dookie. Dookie finds me” – Dewa Dorje
Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I can replace the interior of a car, dig a trench, repair a computer, do the taxes, stay up all night feeding a baby from my bosom and then produce more milk-for later (probably not all at once but possibly). I wouldn’t change a thing.
What makes someone fabulous: Loving yourself!
