Visit wild and aquatic life in Seattle

Though notoriously known for its coffee scene, Seattle is also home to the largest zoo in all of Washington state, Woodland Park Zoo. The zoo holds more than 900 animals, including some of the world’s most critically endangered, like the Assam Rhino and Red Panda (pictured above). After visits to some of your favorite furry friends (general admission starts at $16.50 for those under the age of 12) and a few spins on the Historic Carousel ($3 per person), take a trip down to the Seattle Aquarium, located just four miles away. The aquatic zoo offers more than its variety of fish, mammals, birds and cephalopods and features an abundance of fun for both you and your little ones. Explore the underwater dome, a one-of-a-kind view into a 40,000-gallon habitat of Puget Sound Fish or dive into Washington’s local sealife with the Life on the Edge exhibit, a 120,000-gallon exhibit featuring native fish, plants and a scuba diver taking the plunge. General admission starts at $19.70 for locals under the age of 12.
