Genuine Skagit Cooking Launch Party

Break bread in tribute to the farmers, food producers and residents featured on the pages of Genuine Skagit Cooking, on May 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., at The Vinery at Christianson’s Nursery and Greenhouse in Mount Vernon.

Enjoy bites of small plates featured in the cookbook, and guests will also be first in line to get their hands on the cookbook. Genuine Skagit Cooking features recipes for every meal of the day from six categories (vegetables, fruit, meat + dairy, seafood, grains, and flowers + herbs). Among the 160 pages, readers will learn how to create dishes such as Savory Filled Buns, Smokey Creamy Carrot Soup, Blueberry-Basil Tart, and a Skagit Seafood Boil. In addition, the cookbook includes profiles about Skagit Valley farmers and producers, making it an excellent resource for anyone interested in learning more about where their food comes from.

The launch party is free to attend, and parking is free and plentiful off Best Road in front of The Vinery.
