How did your love story begin? We met working at Nordstrom in 1989. He was just transferred from Seattle to SoCal and his office was next to my department. He’d walk by 100 times a day, and we just started talking. He didn’t know anyone so we started hanging out as friends for a good year or more. We actually tried fixing each other up with friends, on both sides. At some point, we just started dating because we were literally hanging out daily. So, we met at work and now we work together again.
Favorite thing about one another: Tina: My favorite thing about Rudy is his humor. He’s the funniest person I know. He doesn’t show it to everyone, but when he does…you know it.
Rudy: Tina is supportive, kind and a giver.
Favorite date night: Dinner and cozy movie time.
Favorite tradition you have as a couple: The two things that came to mind here: writing notes and leaving them in places for each other to find. We do this with our daughter and she does it now, too. The other one that comes to mind is when we travel/fly, we hold hands while we take off. We’ve always done it. Even when we sit across the aisle from each other. Other passengers probably think we’re nuts.
What does your happily ever after look like? To live near our daughter and her family. To participate in their lives as much as possible. To, hopefully, play with grandchildren and do all the fun things. We will always have a family dog to love on. Would love to downsize and travel.
