42nd Annual Beat the Bridge

The 42nd Annual Beat the Bridge will take place on Sunday, May 19, at Husky Stadium in Seattle.

Discover the thrill of Beat the Bridge, an 8K run that transcends the ordinary by taking you over Seattle’s University Bridge. The race kicks off at 6:45 on Sunday, May 19 where participants are in for an exciting twist when the bridge gets raised partway through the race. The challenge? Run fast enough to beat the bridge, or enjoy the company of fellow participants until it descends. But it’s not just a race, it’s a meaningful cause!

The Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes is a fundraiser for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research. The event consists of an 8K run and wheelchair race, a 3-mile walk, a 1-mile fun run, and the Diaper Derby for toddlers. For 41 years, the Seattle community has come together with Nordstrom and the Boyle Family to help JDRF raise funds to cure, prevent, and better treat type 1 diabetes.

Registration is open now, and pre-registration is highly encouraged. There is a $30 per participant registration fee for the 8K race, and free for those participating in the diaper derby, 3-mile walk/run, and the 1-mile run.
