From Feb. 2 to Feb. 6, sibling chefs, Trinh and Thai Nguyen of Ba Sa on Bainbridge Island, are welcoming the Year of the Tiger with celebratory dishes and a special lion dance.
The Lunar New Year festivities at Ba Sa includes celebratory dishes that aren’t to be missed.
Tét Specials at Ba Sa:
Bánh Tét – sticky rice stuffed with pork belly and mung bean
Thit Kho Mang – braised pork belly with bamboo shoots
Salt steamed chicken with ginger scallion oil
On Sunday, Feb. 6, at 1:30 p.m., guests can enjoy a traditional lion dance to bring prosperity and good luck for the year, taking place in front of Ba Sa on Winslow Way. The Ba Sa team will also hand out red envelopes that symbolize good wishes and luck for the new year.
