5 Washington Tea Rooms

Is enjoying a spot of tea on your fall to-do list? Here are five Washington favorites, whether you’re craving a traditional experience with clotted cream and finger sandwiches or a hip take on high tea.

Café Tenby

Available by reservation on Saturdays at noon and 3 p.m. and Sundays at noon, high tea at Café Tenby in Townsend includes tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, lemon curd and jam, a selection of pastries and fruit, and an extensive menu of teas. Or book the Royal High Tea with sparkling wine for an experience fit for a king or queen.

Jardin Tea

For a fresh take on afternoon tea, Seattle’s Jardin Tea offers a casual experience in a trendy setting, available Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each guest is served two savory items, seven sweet items and a personal pot of loose-leaf tea blend of their choice from Jardin’s full steeped tea menu (or blooming tea, for an additional cost). Be sure to make reservations at least 72 hours in advance.

Brambleberry Cottage & Tea Shoppe

This Spokane tea room has been a local favorite for 25 years. Brambleberry Cottage & Tea Shoppe serves tea Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by appointment. (Currently, the tea room is accepting orders for tea services on Fridays and Saturdays for curbside pick-up only through the booking page.) Guests gather ‘round for three-tiered tea services featuring savory sandwiches, fresh-baked scones, cottage-made crumpets and an assortment of desserts. Themed tea parties are even hosted throughout the year.

Graham’s Royal Tea

Afternoon high tea at Graham’s Royal Tea in Bothell is bursting with grace and charm. Served on vintage bone china tea towers, guests can dig into warm scones with all the trimmings, finger sandwiches, bite-size desserts and their choice of tea. To-go tea parties are available as well for picnicking and at-home celebrations.

British Bites

Whether you’re seeking hard-to-find British groceries, fresh-baked treats like scones, tarts or shortbread or a full afternoon tea experience, British Bites in Puyallup is the spot to check out. Gluten-free and vegetarian afternoon tea services are even available.
