Jackson Street Pizza Lounge

Jackson Street Pizza Lounge is a lively neighborhood restaurant that specializes in hand-tossed pizzas and craft cocktails. Located in the Central District of Seattle, Michael Genardini and Donald Dolaghan have created a menu that is both innovative and comforting, using the freshest ingredients.

With a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the newly opened Jackson Street Pizza Lounge has a cozy neighborhood bar feel, taking over the space formerly housed by Central Pizza. The space is colorful and vibrant, with table, booth and bar seating. Dimmed lighting and a backlit bar make this a great spot for a date night. The restaurant also has a bit of an artsy and edgy vibe.

The craft cocktails at Jackson Street Pizza Lounge are fantastic, with each being named after a jazz bar that used to exist in Seattle’s Central District. The Bucket of Blood is delicious and is the restaurant’s take on a classic Negroni. Another favorite is the Ballad of Central Pizza with amaro, aquavit and mole bitters. For something more tropical, try the Green Dot, with vodka, caramelized pineapple, vanilla and lime. Jackson Street Pizza Lounge also has a great selection of local beers and Italian wines. The Lambrusco is a chilled sparkling red and pairs well with a red sauce pizza.

Small bites include castelvetrano olives and two different kinds of stromboli. Jackson Street Pizza Lounge offers shareables as well, such as the beets with stracciatella; broccoli with black garlic; house-pulled mozzarella; and beef and pork meatballs. Sweets include seasonal gelato, almond-lemon cake and banana-date cake with toffee caramel (to die for!).

Naturally, the pizza is the star of the show here. You can’t go wrong with any of the classic pies like the mushroom, pepperoni or Italian sausage. Jackson Street Pizza Lounge also has some really fun and unique pizzas like the Carbonara with guanciale, roasted garlic, pecorino, and an egg yolk; or the El Pastor with caramelized pineapple, chorizo and Calabrian honey. With each bite, you tell that the pizzas here are a labor of love, and that a lot of thought and creativity goes into them.

Jackson Street Pizza Lounge is 4 to 11 p.m., Sunday to Thursday, and 4 p.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday. The Seattle restaurant serves daily happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. and late-night happy hour on the weekends, which includes food and drink specials and $5 pizza slices.
