5 Favorite Seattle Wine Tasting Rooms

Washington bottles are at the top of many a wine lover’s list, especially when enjoyed in a cool tasting room with friends. Here are five Seattle-area favorites for sipping and savoring wine in the city. Before you go, reservations are recommended.

Kerloo Cellars

Kerloo Cellars offers a unique tasting experience in Downtown Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood from owner and winemaker Ryan Crane. Thursday through Sunday, from noon to 6 p.m., wine lovers can enjoy palate-challenging offerings with a Kerloo representative in an intimate setting. For $45, private tastings can also be booked for an after-hours experience, during which you can taste five to eight wines within 1.5 hours. Three days’ notice is required. kerloocellars.com

Two Vintners

At Two Vintners, the goal is to show off just how unique Washington wine can be. The tasting room is open Saturday and Sunday or by appointment where guests can savor glass pours, preset flights or buy a bottle of their favorite, like the Legit 2016 or 2018 “Das Riseling” new releases. You might even catch your favorite local food purveyor selling their tasting goods to pair with the wine. twovintners.com

Structure Cellars

Thursday through Sunday, Structure Cellars is open for tastings in the SoDo Urban Works Building. With a husband-and-wife team at the helm, the Seattle-based tasting room prides itself on offering great wine at great prices (there a sweet patio, too). The newest release Craftsman Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, for example, is available for purchase for a wallet-friendly $28. structurewines.com

Patterson Cellars

Though Patterson Cellars, from owner and winemaker John Patterson, has four tasting rooms within Washington, its newly opened SoDo tasting room brings wine country to the city. It offers a cool, modern space for sampling five to six wines from the Patterson collection of red blends, single varietals, classic whites, rosés, sparkling wines and lush dessert wines. (There’s even local beer and cider to enjoy.) Private tasting experiences are bookable online. pattersoncellars.com

Elson Cellars

Classified as “Northwest Wines,” as the wine is crafted with Northwest grapes, Elson Cellars takes great pride in using the most nurtured fruit from trusted growers. The Seattle tasting room is currently open on weekends from 1 to 5 p.m., and sippers can settle in to enjoy Elson’s popular Malbec and rosé, among other bold bottles. elsomcellars.com
