Although John Howie Steak is highly regarded for its fantastic wine selection, its cocktail program is equally impressive, spotlighting distinguished brands like Maker’s Mark, Eagle Rare, Woodford Reserve, Knob Creek and many others. It has over 40 private barrels that can only be found at John Howie Restaurants. Whether you prefer vodka, gin, rum, tequila or whiskey, John Howie Steak offers excellent craft cocktails featuring whichever your preference may be.

Make sure to start your dinner off with John Howie Steak’s famous bread service. The decadence begins with the starters, with luxe options like tempura-fried Kurobuta bacon, Dungeness crab cake and roasted bone marrow. The seafood bar has favorites like the hamachi crudo and fresh-shucked oysters. Soup options include lobster bisque and French onion soup, and John Howie Steak is known for doing a fabulous Tableside Caesar, where the entire salad is prepared at your table.

John Howie Steak is famous for its Wagyu, American Wagyu, Australian Wagyu and Japanese “A5” Wagyu—considered the best of the best—in a variety of different cuts that are up for ordering. The dinner menu also offers a wide range of USDA Prime steaks like the Delmonico bone-in New York strip and Porterhouse. The steaks at John Howie Steak come a la carte, with various sides like lobster mashed potatoes, butter-braised mushrooms, mesquite-grilled corn and char roasted broccoli. You can also add an Atlantic lobster tail, black truffle butter and torchon de Foie Gras to your steak to enhance the flavors even more.

For those who aren’t in the mood for a steak, there are plenty of House Specialties like the Alaskan halibut, double-cut pork chop, King salmon and sesame cauliflower steak to choose from.

If you’re looking for a more casual experience but one that is still sure to be delicious, you can enjoy the bar area of the restaurant. The bar menu offers classic starters like ahi tartare, spicy habanero butter shrimp, wagyu beef fat truffle fries and fried brussels sprouts while larger appetites can savor the likes of steak frites and a bacon cheeseburger.

Desserts at John Howie Steak include a variety of beloved steakhouse classics, like vanilla bean crème brulee and New York-style cheesecake, in addition to a tableside Bananas Foster that is great for two people to share.


Right now, the restaurant is running a promotion called Prime Rewards, a loyalty program that incentivizes guests to return by providing gift cards for future visits. The minimum amount guests must spend to receive a gift card through Prime Rewards is $200, for which they will receive a $50 gift card that they can use on subsequent visits up until Dec. 7, 2023.

John Howie Steak is open for happy hour Monday to Thursday, 4 to 9 p.m., and dinner service is Monday to Friday, 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m.
