Refract | The Seattle Glass Experience

From Oct. 15 to Oct. 18, Refract | The Seattle Glass Experience rings in its second year with in-person or online programing. The region’s top glass artists are set to showcase epic exhibitions, can’t-miss demos and opportunities to connect with them working in this glass-blowing medium.

Though 2020 has forced many to cancel their highly anticipated plans, the show must go on at Refract (albeit in a scaled-back way). Though the parties and studio visits will have to wait, Refract promises to celebrate the incredible artists who contribute to the Pacific Northwest’s glass community via virtual events, online programs and safely distanced in-person shows, demos and exhibitions.

The Pacific Northwest happens to be the leading regional hub for glass art in the United States with more than 700 glass artists living in Washington.

Seattle Glassblowing Studios

An exciting option to look out for at this year’s Refract is via Seattle Glassblowing Studios. The studios will offer participants the chance to design a work of glass art, watch it created live online, and then receive the finished product at their doorstep. Seattle Glassblowing Studios is celebrating its 30th year in the city.

Dozens of programs are planned for the four-day festival. See a complete list of 2020 events here.
