Local Sightings Film Festival

Local Sightings Film Festival

Local Sightings Film Festival, presented by Seattle’s Northwest Film Forum, is back for its 24th year with a lineup showcasing productions from as far north as British Columbia and as far east as Montana. The festival will take place from Sept. 16 to Sept. 26, both virtually and in person.

With a mission to promote diversity in media and showcase emerging talent in the film industry, the festival will include 11 film feature programs, 15 short films, workshops and other special events. The films highlight a multitude of genres, bringing a little something for everyone to enjoy.

Each genre category sheds light on a new story, like the documentary section, featuring a hot topic film on corruption in America’s justice system. In addition to documentaries, there are more lighthearted comedies, dark comedies, focuses on substance abuse and mental health, and much more. In addition to films, the Local Sightings Festival will host two grand events, one on Sept. 16, and another on Sept. 26.

The first event will feature a live performance and Q&A with the cast and crew of “Thin Skin.” More details about the event will soon be announced. The event for closing night, “Manifest Destiny Jesus,” will host a pre-show happy hour, a live Q&A with filmmakers and musical performances.

Festival passes start at $50. For more information on the Local Sightings Film Festival, visit nwfilmforum.org/local-sightings-film-festival-2021.
