Children’s Film Festival Seattle

For the 16th year in a row, the annual Children’s Film Festival Seattle (CFFS) has returned–this time virtually. This year’s festival’s theme, Love & Light, will be a window into uplifting content and happy endings amidst the pandemic from the experiences, joy and challenges of childhood.

The festival runs from Feb. 18 to Feb. 28 and will feature a total of 134 films, with four full films and 16 shorts each from 36 different countries. Each film varies from animated shorts to thrilling live actions, with one goal: to inspire empathy, understanding and a nuanced view of the world.

“The content of this year’s festival has special meaning that can provide hope to kids and families,” says CFFS director Elizabeth Shepherd in a press release. “What better way to see the world right now than through the lens of international films that invite kids to use their imaginations and dream of ways to make the world a better place?”

Each presentation will be accessible to film lovers of all ages from any country via Zoom. The festival will also be hosting hands-on workshops, bonus activities, videos from filmmakers and an interactive junior award ceremony.

To attend CFFS, you can purchase festival passes online or partake in its pay-what-you-can option (from $0 to $25). To view the full festival schedule and purchase tickets, click here.
