Seattle Rep Announces New Season

Seattle Rep is back this December with in-person performances, live theater experiences and hybrid films. The season will run from December 2021 to June 2022 at the newly remodeled Bagley Wright Theater and the Leo K. Theater.

The season will feature the following productions:

The Winter’s Tale

A musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Winter’s Tale, this performance will be both a hybrid film and in-person theatrical performance. The story follows a Sicilian King who suspects his wife of infidelity and seeks revenge. A Hybrid Film and Live Theatrical Experience – December 2021 

Fannie: The Music and Life of Fannie Lou Hamer

Based on the Life of Fannie Lou Hamer, an American civil rights activist, the performance features live music and tells the story of her life growing up in Mississippi to her later work in the Democratic Freedom Party. Bagley Wright Theater – Jan. 14 to Feb. 6, 2022

Freestyle Love Supreme

Straight from Broadway, Freestyle Love Supreme brings interactive freestyle hip-hop, improvised comedy and full-length music numbers to the stage. Teenage Dick

A witty, satirical retelling of Shakespeare’s Richard III, Teenage Dick is a story of bullying, revenge and high school. The narrative follows Richard, a high school student who is bullied for his disabilities and must decide if it is better to be loved or feared. Leo K. Theater – March 4 to April 3, 2022

Ghosts

After her unfaithful husband passes away, a widow begins rebuilding her life with her unsuspecting son. Family secrets are revealed, new love blossoms and a widow learns what it truly means to be free. Bagley Wright Theater – April 1 to May 1, 2022

Selling Kabul

Taroon finds himself in the middle of the war between the Taliban and Americans. Spending his days in hiding from the terrorist group, Taroon anxiously awaits the news of the birth of his newborn baby. Leo K. Theater – April 22 to May 22, 2022

Bruce

A 26-year-old director takes on Cape Cod to shoot in the open ocean. The young director battles harsh weather, hostile locals and his robotic shark, Bruce. Based on the true story of the creation of Jaws, the musical takes you behind the scenes for the making of the hit summer movie. Bagley Wright Theater – May 27 to June 26, 2022

To protect all participants, attendees must wear masks, show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours to attend. Tickets prices are to be determined, but when available, they can be purchased online.
