Pike Place Market Date Nights

Trying to plan your next Seattle date night with a loved one? Check out Pike Place Market after its traditional hours for a romantic evening filled with flowers, mini cheesecakes, and much more. Here’s an agenda to help take some of the pressure away from planning, and help you create the perfect evening for two.

Start out your special night by meeting your date under the Public Market Center Clock & Sign. The large, illuminated lettering will make it impossible for them to miss, and help them not get lost on their way to you. You can pick up a bouquet of flowers beforehand at Pike Place Flowers (closes at 5 p.m.), one of the farmer’s market booths (closes at 4 p.m.) or, if you’re feeling adventurous, let your date choose from the dozens of bouquets that line the main arcade.

Before heading to happy hour, make a stop by The Confectional on Pike Place; its mini cheesecakes are both cute and to-die-for delish. The shop closes at 6 p.m., so be sure to head there first to snag a couple to enjoy now or after dinner.

The Confectional

With your cheesecakes acquired, it is time to grab a couple drinks and head to the Front Plaza to watch the sunset. Rachel’s Ginger Beer is nearby, as well as Old Stove Brewing Co. The brewpub makes it beer on site and also sell cans and growlers to go.

For dinner, you can head to Le Pichet, a small French bistro with a signature slow-roasted chicken for two; Matt’s in the Market for some Pacific Northwest cuisine; Radiator Whiskey to enjoy curated meats and a vast whiskey menu; or the Pink Door for Italian fare. If you can, make sure to make reservations beforehand.

If you prefer a more casual dining experience, you check out the historic Virginia Inn, Alibi Room, Pike Place Bar and Grill, or you can pick from the full list of market restaurants at pikeplacemarket.org.

IL Bistro

To finish off the evening, head over to JarrBar on Western Avenue or IL Bistro near the Gum Wall for a nightcap. JarrBar offers cocktails and Spanish libations with Iberian-style small plates and is open until 11 p.m., whereas IL Bistro features subterranean Italian trattoria with a late-night bar menu open until midnight.

Use one of Pike Place Market’s evening parking garages for a small fee of $5. The garage opens at 5 p.m. and doesn’t close until 2 a.m., giving you a long time to enjoy your night out and release any stress of interrupting your date to make it back to a meter on time.
