Restaurant of the Week: Woodblock

In the heart of Redmond, local owners Tony and Carolyn Scott have made their mark by creating a restaurant with an outstanding menu for all hours of the day: Woodblock. Named after their love for woodblock art, the upscale, family-friendly eatery dishes up one of the area’s top happy hours.

Showcasing flavorful shareable dishes like the creamy burrata with heirloom cherry tomatoes, balsamic, basil and a side of grilled rustic bread and the mouthwatering parmesan truffle fries tossed in garlic shallot salt, served with a side of roasted garlic aioli and harissa aioli, Woodblock’s happy hour menu is available daily from 3 to 5 p.m.

This local favorite is not only dishing up excellent food with one of their signature ingredients, harissa, but they have even incorporated it into some signature cocktails like the When East Meets West. This cocktail consists of tequila shaken with blood orange, lime, tamarind and harissa. Also, try the Woodblock oak-infused Manhattan and many other originals all for $2 off during happy hour.

During happy hour, you can also enjoy half-off charcuterie boards and bottles of wine, which make the perfect combination for a successful happy hour. These sweet and savory charcuterie boards are filled with a variety of cured meats, artisanal cheeses, marinated olives, pickled vegetables and fruit. Optional chicken and duck liver mousse can be added for $4 for those with a more sophisticated palate.

Some of the more filling happy hour eats, like the juicy spicy buttermilk-fried chicken sandwich, can also be enjoyed during the weekday lunch menu Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or for dinner. This classic is loaded with arugula, tomato, pickled onions, green goddess dressing and chipotle-buffalo sauce, all on a buttery brioche bun. Another happy hour favorite, also available for lunch and dinner, is the mac and cheese, which is vegetarian. With cavatappi, asiago, fontina, parmesan and provolone, topped off with bread crumbs, bleu cheese, truffle oil and even matchstick apples, this cheese lover’s paradise won’t disappoint.

Be sure to also check out Woodblock’s legendary Whiskey Tuesdays, which includes half-off all whiskey pours available from its exclusive whiskey library, as well as the restaurant’s weekend brunch offered Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Happy hour deals must be enjoyed in-person and are not available for to go. Open seven days a week, Woodblock has transformed its dining options to now include a large outdoor patio and perfectly packaged to-go options. To learn more, visit www.woodblockredmond.com.
