Restaurant of The Week: Cantinetta Bellevue

Nestled in historic Old Bellevue, Cantinetta offers an authentic Italian dining experience reminiscent of a night out in Tuscany. And just wait until you sink your teeth into the handmade pasta!

Cantinetta offers a welcoming, intimate environment perfect for a cozy dinner for two or, if you dare to share, a traditional family-style dining experience. Outside the dimly lit restaurant, you’ll find the patio set against the picturesque brick building exterior, filled with fire pits, cozy chairs and views looking right out onto Main Street in Old Bellevue. It is the perfect location for a cozy evening under the stars and a fine bottle of wine from the long lists of Italian and American bottles, all while indulging in the comforts of true Italian cuisine.

Start fresh with the fall salad Antipasti. This bright dish of arugula, treviso and Granny Smith apple makes for an excellent shareable. Being on the lighter side, the salad pairs well with the butternut squash soup and/or burrata.

While sampling your way through the Antipasti, sip a signature craft cocktail, like the Boulevardier Bellevue or the Main Street Gimlet, to cleanse your palate before moving onto your next course.

Cantinetta is well known for its handmade pasta served up with seasonal, organic ingredients from right here in the Pacific Northwest. The Pappardelle alla Bolognese (available year round) is a delicious, satisfying classic—even kids will love it! For those seeking something even richer, opt for the seasonal ravioli which currently features butternut squash, brown butter and sage. This savory, vegetarian dish is bursting with flavor in every bite.

For a dose of protein, the sea scallops, alongside roasted cauliflower fennel and turnip, make a great addition, while Cantinetta also dishes up ribeye and short ribs for a heartier appetite.

As always, saving room for dessert is a must. The flourless chocolate cake paired with caramel gelato is a true crowd-pleaser.

Cantinetta also has locations in Madison Valley and Wallingford and is open 5 p.m. to close Tuesday through Sunday (closed Monday). For the full menu visit www.cantinetta.com.
