Located in the heart of Downtown Bremerton, just a short ferry ride from Seattle, Hound + Bottle is a cozy neighborhood bar and restaurant that serves seasonal PNW dishes and cocktails, both made with fresh local ingredients.
Hound + Bottle opened in 2018 by owners Alan and Jodi Davis. The quaint and dimly lit atmosphere is perfect for a date night or drinks with friends, thanks to the restaurant’s stellar selection of craft cocktails, wine and beer, and an impressive food menu. The space is small and intimate, with a beautifully decorated bar. For those warmer nights, there is outdoor seating on the deck.
We started the night off with a few cocktails, including the Negroni and the Basilico, served up. We paired these with Hound + Bottle’s super-fresh oysters, which are served on the half shell with lemon and mignonette. (We enjoyed them so much that we ordered another round.) Next up, we had the cheese board, which came with three creamy regional artisan cheeses, pickled fruit and vegetables, and house crackers.
The starters are fabulous, but the mains really take the cake. Our absolute favorite dish is the Dungeness crab cakes, served with roasted red pepper and arugula aioli, a fresh potato salad sprinkled with dill, and roasted summer vegetables. The pork prime rib chop, which came with chive-buttered potatoes, plum sauce and garlic-braised greens, is another favorite. Both of these dishes paired very well with the two Italian white wines that we ordered. Though we didn’t get to try them this time around, Hound + Bottle’s burrata, summer pot pie and steak salad all looked delicious as well.
Hound + Bottle is open Wednesday through Saturday, 4 to 9 p.m. Reservations are available for parties of six or more.
