Restaurant of the Week: Tendrils

Located inside the beautiful SageCliffe Resort & Spa in Quincy is Tendrils restaurant, an indoor and outdoor farm-to-table concept led by the talented Executive Chef Dezmon Campos. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is something for everyone on its vast menu.

Tendrils offers an excellent setting for celebrating a special occasion, a quiet dinner for two or an upscale yet family-friendly evening out with the kiddos. The breathtaking views from the patio make for the best sunset dinner experience while overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.

Come dinnertime, a great starter that’s also excellent for sharing is the charcuterie plate, which comes with the Chef’s choice of three meats, cheeses, crackers and a house-made seasonal jam. Next up, try the refreshing rainbow salad filled with fresh arugula, purple cabbage, tomato, radish, mango, dried blueberries, pistachios and manchego cheese with a house-made white balsamic-honey vinaigrette. These two items pair well with a glass of Treveri Brut Rose or one of the tasty in-house cocktails, like the Guapo poured with St. Germain, Grey Goose, cucumber, fresh lime and topped off with club soda over ice. Tendrils’ outstanding wine menu is home to some of the region’s top winemakers and has the perfect wine-pairing option to add onto your dinner.

Try Chef’s special for an entrée as this rotating item changes daily highlighting some of the season’s best produce. Pasta lovers must order the ricotta gnocchi, made fresh daily in house and served with mushrooms, asparagus and tossed in a lemon-thyme beurre blanc sauce. For those with a hearty appetite, opt for the dry-aged 8-oz. Snake River Farms tenderloin, which is topped with a red wine demi-glace and served with the most flavorful garlic mashed potatoes and fresh seasonal veggies. Save room for dessert! The bread pudding is made to order and served with a caramel pudding sauce and French vanilla ice cream.

Staying at the resort? Start your morning off right with the SageCliffe omelet loaded with chorizo, tomato, onion, spinach and gruyere cheese. (This is also available in a vegetarian option.) Along with all the other breakfast classics like eggs benedict or eggs your way, delight your taste buds with an order of the sweet and savory scones served with a seasonal jam and honey whipped cream. If you prefer sleep over breakfast, try out Alex’s chipotle garden burger for lunch, which is also available in vegan options and served with house-made black beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and sriracha aioli on a brioche bun. Prefer meat? The American beef burger topped with Beecher’s white cheddar, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato and caramelized onions on a brioche bun with a side of house fries will hit the spot.

While there is no happy hour on site as the restaurant is closed daily from 2 to 4 p.m., all of the great drinks and dinner items can be enjoyed daily from 4 to 9 p.m. The breakfast menu is available daily from 8 to 11 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Be sure to call ahead to make a reservation for indoor or outdoor dining during the busy spring/summer months.
