Hometown: Poulsbo, WA

First job: Drive-thru operator

Favorite ways to spend your free time in WA: Hiking, camping, skiing and visiting all the fabulous attractions.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Every day is a learning opportunity, so I don’t think I’ve achieved my biggest accomplishment yet, but I’m grateful to be able to provide for my family and spend quality time with them.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: Running a restaurant during a pandemic may not be an original obstacle, but it sure was challenging! I have learned so much from it and would not be who I am today without the experience.

Someone who inspires you and why: I have many people that inspire me but the one that really sticks out is my grandma. Being a mother of 12, she always instilled great standards and values in her kids, even after my grandpa passed away. She ran and expanded her business until she retired at the age of 75. She’s 90 now and her mind is still super sharp. She’s a wonderful conversationalist and doesn’t miss a detail when we talk shop. I’ve learned strength, resilience, discipline and the importance of hard work from her.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: In the restaurant industry, you need to love what you do. The work isn’t for the faint of heart. In running a business, following through is everything, whether it’s a business transaction or running your organization. Your word should have some weighted value.

Favorite quote: There are so many good ones, but lately I have “Progress Is Falling Forward” on repeat.

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I love to sing karaoke.

What makes someone fabulous: Being kind, humble and considerate of others.
