Hometown: Seattle, WA.

First job: Muffin and coffee seller at Muffin Break.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in WA: Exploring our beautiful state and cooking outside with friends. I also enjoy long walks around the city, stopping into coffee shops, museums, galleries, etc. ––basically being a tourist in my town.

Your biggest accomplishment and why:  My solo show at 4Culture in 2019 was a tremendous personal accomplishment. It was the realization of a vision I had had for many years.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: Losing my dad at a young age has been a constant obstacle to my mental well-being. I don’t think I’ll get over it, but I have tried to live a full life in honor of him.

Someone who inspires you and why: I admire Sheila Hicks, an innovative weaving artist who has had a long and successful career. She has inspired many people to see arts rooted in textiles and weaving in a new light. I hope to be able to do what I love and continue to grow with it as she has.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Try to keep your cost of living low so you can spend as much of your free time on your art as possible.

Favorite quote: “If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.” —Dolly Parton

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I don’t know why, but people are always surprised I don’t like to garden.

What makes someone fabulous: A person who can bring out the best in those around them.
