Your biggest accomplishment and why: Father of daughter, Sydney and son, Cooper; watching them develop into happy, thriving individuals.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: I’ve been lucky in life and did not have to overcome major obstacles, other than my own misjudgments.
Someone who inspires you and why: Authors like Philip Roth, Jane Smiley and Richard Ford, creators of great American novels, inspire introspection and striving for finding my own voice as an architect.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Work harder than everyone around you.
Favorite quote: This Chinese proverb: “The man who finishes his house dies.”
Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: My undergraduate degree is in English, with a communications (journalism) minor, and I worked for a couple of newspapers before going back to school for a master of architecture degree.
