“SHe Said”

“SHe Said” is set to open on Oct. 6 at Seattle’s Broadway Performance Hall. The show–a concept album and theatrical production about gender identity and transition written by Seattle-based Jen Ayers–will run Oct. 6 to Oct. 9.
“SHe Said” is based on Ayers’ personal experience with her partner of 25 years. Eight years ago, Jen’s husband came out as transgender, which led to an unexpected journey of self – as individuals, as a couple, and as parents of an 8-year-old. Ayers turned to her piano where “SHe Said” was born – a 21st-century love story that deals with the impact of gender identity on a family and couple who transition together. Spoiler: Love prevails.
The SHe Said double album, produced by Jeff Fielder was released on Sept. 9, on vinyl, CD and digital distribution.
