Famous Dave’s Washington BBQ Competition

Thanks to one of the best-known barbecue restaurant brands in America, barbecue teams will be firing up the smokers on Sunday, August 29, for the first-ever Famous Dave’s Washington BBQ Competition in Everett, Washington.
With almost 30 teams expected to compete, a prize purse of $5,000 is up for grabs as well as a chance to land a team’s name on the menu at select Famous Dave’s locations by winning the Wild Card “appetizer” ancillary. This category will be assessed by a panel of celebrity judges including champion pitmaster “Famous” Dave Anderson, food competition entrepreneur Mike McCloud, 98.9 The Bull radio personality B-Dub, and Elaina Morris, president and CEO of Ascend Hospitality Group.
Talented pitmasters from around the region will compete in three sanctioned categories to win top honors, which includes a chance to compete at the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational BBQ Competition and The World Food Championships. As a proud partner, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey is also the official whiskey of the event.
The professional categories — chicken, pork ribs, and brisket — will be judged by KCBS-certified BBQ judges. Unlike other BBQ competitions, Famous Dave’s will be providing the proteins for the competitors, ultimately leveling the playing field and allowing the pitmasters to do what they do best — smoke meats!
This smoking hot contest will go down at Famous Dave’s at the Everett Mall on Sunday, August 29, from noon to 6 p.m. and invites BBQ lovers from around the Pacific Northwest come cheer on their favorite teams. The parking lot party includes something for the entire family: a sauce’some selection of Famous Dave’s BBQ, family-friendly fun with kids’ activities, yard games, music from radio personality B-Dub and 98.9 The Bull, and a 21-plus drink garden for adults, featuring some refreshing Jack Daniel’s beverages.
Admission is free, food and drink available for purchase. Winners will be announced on Famous Dave’s social channels as well as the PNW BBQ website.
